Track 2018: Without a New Year Resolution List

Track 2018: Without a New Year Resolution List

I always had a plan, a list to go on by and trust me it was long, extremely detailed, time focused and exhausting. There is hope  that the New Year brings, a sense of a do over on a clean slate. However for most this hope last for the first 15 days and before you know it, you back to same routine, with the same habits that you swore you will change when the clock hit midnight. How do you keep this excitement going and track your goals without being exhausted throughout the year? Well read on…

Lets recap on where I have been for the past year. I am glad 2017 is behind us but it has brought great opportunities and experiences. It was one of my hardest yet fulfilling year. I learned a lot, the main one being: Its ohk to take time off and be present in your own life. My blog is a one woman show, meaning if I am going through something I have to be going through it. I do have support around me, and to all my close friends, family I want to say Thank you for not giving up on me.

This is how I am going to make 2018 my best year to date. Instead of doing a yearly plan, breakdown your goals into a 3 month plan. Take this 3 months plan and break it down in my 5 sections (Family, Friends, Work/School, Personal and Health). For each section write down only 2 goals you will want to accomplish, this goals should be reasonable, short term and direct.

Once the 3 month period has ended, track your progress and plan for the next 3 months, do so till the year ends. Here is a glimpse of my plan, hopefully I stick to this and remain accountable. Have 1 mayor plan for the year, and include it in the 3 month plan. Say, its your final year of studies, the first 3 months you can include (Submit all assignments, spend 2 hours a day on my theses research) for the next 3 you can add to the list on how far you have gone with the goals you set in the first term before you know it, it will be November and you would have completed your theses.

Have a vision board, do it over some wine with some of your closest friends, bring old magazines and have a chat about your goals as you cut away what inspires you. Put this vision board where you see it daily and visualize on it. I still have to create mine. Trust me most of it will be filled with travel inspiration and a whole lot of fashion goals and exercise has to be included, this abs are taking their sweet time to show up.

In ending, all I can say is be realistic. Take time to learn before you proceed. Your actions shape your reaction. Avoid unnecessary spending and learn how to save. (Blog post of saving will be coming up soon). Once you have set your mind on something, remain focused on that and always remain grateful for what you have and you shall prosper. However, it is oak to have a breakdown every now and then, but do dust yourself up, remind yourself who you are and the reasons you started and go for your goals.

I hope you enjoy reading and managed to come up with your mini 3 month plan. What would you want to accomplish in the first 3 months of 2018? Lets talk about it, maybe I can help where I can. The last thing to note is in whatever you do, remain consistent. If you want anything to work remain consistent. And that is my main goal for 2018. Lets see what will happen if I don’t give up.

Thank you so much for reading. Please do share, comment and like this post. I hope it gave you enough motivation to take 2018 on and to follow your goals. Not dreams but goals. Lets do this. Much love.
