Girls Trip: Exploring Cape Town

Girls Trip: Exploring Cape Town

I can use all the words in the world to describe Cape Town but none will do it justice. What made this trip worthwhile was the company and the reason behind the trip and oh yes, the timing.  Birthday celebration were well underway and I am a Christmas Eve baby so that explains a lot about me. All I can say is, you have to experience by yourself for you to  its beauty. I doubt the views get old. The atmosphere is so chilled and relaxed that it consumes you. You can never go wrong with Cape Town. If it is on your bucket list, I would say start packing.

I always advice close friends and family on the importance of time away from our comfort zones, somehow being away allows us to rediscover our purpose. What better way than a girls trip to the mother city. Girls trips can be with your favorites cousins, best friends or in my case friends that become family. I can’t imagine doing Cape Town solo, probably when I am older I will look back and say it is possible.

You will never run out of ideas on what to do once you have arrived, if you do: Google should be able to sort you out. We chose to stay at a Back packers which was a smart financial discussion as it allowed us to accomplish our to do list. Fist activity was to get the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus just to get an overview of the main tourist attractions. It gets windy so pack a hair tie, which clearly I didn’t bring along. But the wind was epic up until it started raining out of the blue. One more thing, the weather is so unpredictable. I have no clue how the locals keep up.

Our first hop off spot was The Kristenbosch National Botanical Gardens to explore the great Tree Canopy Walkway which I came across on Pintrest. Surely by now, y’all know how obsessed I am with Pintrest. As you enter they will provide you with a map of the entire garden, my only advice is do not lose it.The fresh smells walking through the gardens is beyond this world, as you walk along you will come across Protea’s and flowers I can not pronounce nor spell. Huge trees and oh the only sound is the birds and those around you taken away by the beauty. Straight after that was stopping at the famous Camps Bay Beach. Surprising it was not packed at all, given it was peak season, we managed to find a seating spot and oh boy was the water cold.

We managed to do all this in one day. The next post will cover all the other tourist top spots. But nothing compares to a day in a huge garden and ending it off with a pool session. You can never tour the whole of Cape Town in one day, but the Hop-On-Hop-off bus is the best way to get a glimpse of Cape Town.

Have you ever been to Cape Town? How was it for you? Where would you want to take a Girls Trip to? Am sure you have ideas. And I hope I have encouraged you to visit the Mother City. Do share, comment and like this post.

As one third of this dynamic trio I must say this trip was the highlight of 2018, besides the new year itself..

Cape Town is breathtaking, and to this day it really never leaves you. I’m still looking forward to going back because there’s still so much to see

A week of bliss I must say..
